Audi S6-review
Fast, there are four doors already forever, but the Audi S6 offers an enticing mix of people-friendly rooms, blistering speed all-weather traction and brand cachet. Three generations of S6 have our coasts to date, honoured, although sporadic appearance and shortened life surely bring new meaning of the term "Limited Edition".
From the outset was the S6, mission to a special version of the Audi A6 already special-makes an end usually has more, a sportier suspension and performance biased wheels and brakes are achieved. The S6 already always abundant expected with the luxury content from Audi, and its medium size make it a better audis for several passengers. Keep in mind that the S6 focuses on performance, and as such the ride quality is harder edge than the other Audi vehicles.
The Audi S6 is unique for skipping of evolutionary progress for most cars, the performance of a League at a time jumps. From a 227-HP 5-cylinder in the first S6, a 340 HP V8 in the next and finally to the 435-hp v10 today which is S6, Audi a reflection have been rapidly increasing performance aspirations.
Current Audi S6
The Audi S6 is a high performance version of the A6 sedan, powered by a 5.2-liter v10 Lamborghini sources. While slightly revised and Wolfenstein, it still 425 HP and 398 pounds-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission and a 40/60 rear-biased Quattro all-wheel-drive system are standard. Despite this family tree impressive sounding the S6 is unfortunately disappointing. Audi claims a 0-60-mph time in 5-seconds - low range, though in our testing we not better than 5.7 seconds. This is slower than the v6-powered A6 3.0T compressor, not to mention the competition of "Hard core" of BMW, Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz.
The S6 with a hulky is 59 - percent of his weight hanging over the front tire caused considerable understeer, adversely affected handling. It not particularly well either drive as standard 19-inch wheels and a sports suspension produce bone of jarring time for very rough patch. This problem does not have other cars in the class. Fortunately, 18-inch wheels are an option.
While the S6 not go impress, can some errors so with cab. Trimmed in leather and aluminum with accents of Birch wood, operates the S6 of the Audi tradition of finely crafted interiors. The richly reinforced front sport seats offer good support during driving, although if you like the feeling of hugging, the A6 normal seats are a no.-cost option. Interior is spacious, with plenty of room for four passengers in comfort on long distances travel. The MMI electronics recently updated controls by using the car of myriad high-tech features make much easier.
Is the S6 a bad car? Absolutely not, and it's actually a bit of a bargain when compared to its competitors. However, when the competitors have names like M5, E63 AMG, CTS-V and XFR, questions us, how many customers in this price range, however, would we to pay a little more for a whole lot more.
Used Audi S6 models
The present generation Audi S6 made his debut for 2007. Some changes have occurred since then. There were slight styling a welcome update for 2010 tweaks for ' 09 MMI interface electronics and navigation system were that.
Available only for 2002-'03, that previous, presented the second generation of S6 a torquey 4.2-litre V8 with 340 horses more were made available by a five speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. Oddly, this edition of the S6 came as an avant (Audi-speak for "i") only, which in part for its 2 tons unladen weight and low availability was responsible.
0-60 Mph acceleration time was reduced in the low 6-second range and of the car and stiffened suspension and 17-inch wheels and tires made similar to the current S6 a strong handlers to handle it. Further his opulent advantages included domestic and plentiful standard features list; large the wagon was his unimpressive gas mileage. If hard to find a used the second generation Audi S6 wagon offers from a fascinating blend performance and utility.
Born at a time, Audi system was the model naming in the River, officially came to life (and death) of the first generation of S6 1995, although essentially the same car for a few years back, sold as the S4 had been. Available for work, the original Audi S6 offered an eccentric Turbo, 227-hp 5-cylinder engine, through a sedan and a wagon driving a manual transmission on all four wheels. When the performance for the day decent, this iteration of the S6 a brand much never made to the history books.
