New Citroen C6

Ford Fusion can help drivers maintain proper lane position, adjust vehicle speed to changing traffic conditions, identify suitable parking spaces and help park, even aiding drivers backing out of parking space where visibility is obstructed. Specific technologies include:
  • Lane Keeping System: This class-exclusive technology consists of three elements to help a driver maintain proper lane position. Using a small, forward-facing camera behind the inside rearview mirror, the system "looks" down the road, monitoring lane lines to determine that the car is on course. The system will alert a driver if drowsiness or erratic lane-keeping is detected. The second element warns a driver with a steering wheel vibration if the Fusion drifts too close to lane markings.   • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with cross-traffic alert: Sensors in both Fusion rear quarter-panels are able to detect traffic in a drivers blind spot, providing both audible and visual warnings if traffic - unseen by the driver - is detected. Lincoln MKT Concept Review



Lincoln pulled the curtain on the concept of a new premium utility vehicle - unsurpassed in the balance of space, comfort and energy efficiency - that shows customers a new way to tour in style.
Lincoln MKT concept features 3.5-liter engine turbo EcoBoost V-6 direct injection that produces power and torque of a V-8 engine with fuel consumption of a V-6. EcoBoost - combined with advanced transmissions, electric power steering, weight reductions and aerodynamic improvements - is a key element of resilience strategy Ford Motor vehicles.
The company is introducing EcoBoost engines that will provide savings of up to 20 percent better fuel economy on half a million Ford, Lincoln and Mercury in North America each year over the next five years. Ford first will introduce EcoBoost on the Lincoln MKS next year. Luxury sedan will feature 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6, delivering an estimated 340 horsepower and more than 340 lb-ft of torque on regular gasoline.
"EcoBoost engines can deliver fuel savings and performance over a wide range of vehicles from small cars to large trucks," said Mark Fields, president of the United States. Lincoln MKT concept features an EcoBoost engine flex-fuel capable, offering the driver the ability to switch between premium gasoline and E85 ethanol blend gas. Using light emitting diodes (LEDs) strategically positioned so light appears to originate from the center of three circles quickly and radiates to the outer edge of the fast.
MKT concept of the center console, which runs the entire length of the vehicle to create a sense of continuity between the top and bottom of the cabin, contains individual air vents, audio and climate controls, and personal storage.

New Lithium Ion Cells Offer Greater Energy Density

According to Green Car Congress a new Lithium Ion Semi-Solid flow cell battery could make current technology obsolete as well as offering reduced cost and energy density an order of magnitude beyond current flow type batteries. This Technology is being developed by MIT Researcher Dr. Yet-Ming Chiang. 


Dr. Chiang believes that this new architecture for Flow Type Lithium cells could offer energy densities of 300-500 Wh L^-1 which would equate to $250 kWh for transportation grid and $100 kWh for excess power storage grid. This would dramatically reduce the cost of maintaining emergency power grids as well as for quick charge stations for new EV Vehicles hitting the market.


Not delving too deep into the technical details these systems are based on using an electrolytic solution that is held in storage tanks that then pass through an ion exchanger that is comprised of millions of nano-scale conductors that draw energy from the solutions through a process know as "intercalation" that releases energy more efficiently than current flow cells.


Liquid Solution flow cells are of great interest because of their scaleability when applied to infrastructure. The main interest of a flow cell that offers energy densities of 300-500 Wh L^-1 is that this would allow for a grid that could handle thousands of electric cars charging day in and day out which is exciting news for a future of vehicles that exist on the grid instead of going from fuel station to fuel station.

The two-piece, 40/60, rear seat backrest can be easily folded. The load compartment can be equipped with a practical hanging load net. A soft safety net is optional and a steel version is available as an accessory.

The car can be equipped with a versatile "extra" floor in the load compartment. It creates several useful possibilities:
  •     Fold it up - and get a grocery holder.
  •     Fold it away - and get best luggage volume.
  •     Flat floor - load long stuff.
  •     Flip it over for protecting and maximize the volume.

The front passenger seat can be folded forward to create even more space. In addition to the two permanent hooks, the extra floor integrates hooks for bags. Between the upper and lower floors there is a concealed storage area.

All Wheel Drive enhances capability
The Volvo V40 Cross Country features class-leading driving dynamics with All Wheel Drive available on the T5 petrol turbo to enhance the all-road, all-weather capability.

The five-cylinder 2.5-litre T5 engine has a power output of 254 hp and 400 Nm of torque, including 40 Nm overboost delivered during acceleration. It comes with automatic transmission and acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 6.1 seconds. Fuel consumption is 7.8 l/100 km (EU Combined).

The T5 is also available in a 2.0-litre version with 213 hp and 300 Nm of torque on certain markets.

There is also the T4, a 1.6-litre GTDi engine with 180 horsepower and maximum torque of 270 Nm, including 30 Nm overboost. Fuel consumption is 5.5 l/100 km. This corresponds to CO2 emissions of 129 g/km.

A 2.0-litre five-cylinder T4 engine with 180 hp and 300 Nm of torque is available on certain markets.

Smooth Powershift transmission
The T5 version comes with a six-speed automatic gearbox, while the T4 is available in combination with the automatic six-speed Powershift transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox.

Powershift operates in principle as two parallel manual gearboxes with separate clutches, a system that provides quick and fuel-saving gear changes.

Fuel-efficient diesels
The five-cylinder 2.0-litre D4 turbodiesel has been optimised for fuel-efficient driving pleasure. It delivers 177 hp and has torque of 400 Nm across a wide rpm range. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 8.3 seconds with the automatic gearbox (8.6 sec with manual). Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are 4.4 l/100 km (117 g/km) with a manual gearbox and 5.2 l/100 km (137 g/km) with the automatic (EU Combined).

In addition there is the 2.0-litre D3 producing 150 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Both turbodiesels are available with a six-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual gearbox.

D2 version with class leading CO2 emissions of 99 g/km
The D2 version of the Volvo V40 Cross Country comes with CO2 emissions at a class-leading 99 g/km - corresponding to fuel consumption of just 3.8 l/100 km. The 1.6-litre diesel engine has 115 hp and 285 Nm of torque, including 15 Nm overboost. The D2 engine is combined with a six-speed manual gearbox and start/stop function.

All engine versions have start-stop and braking energy regeneration, no matter whether they are fitted with a manual or automatic gearbox.

Hill Descent Control
To make altitude-changing adventures more comfortable for the driver, the Volvo V40 Cross Country also features Hill Descent Control on the T5 version with All Wheel Drive, which controls the cars speed automatically when driving down steep inclines. Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible kicks out 650 hp limits top speed

Twenty years ago, Ford debuted the 1993 SVT Mustang Cobra at the Chicago Auto Show and introduced the world to its high-performance skunkworks department, known as SVT or Special Vehicle Team.

Today, Ford celebrates SVTs platinum anniversary the only way it knows how: with another Mustang variant. And as suspected, it comes in the form of a topless Shelby GT500.

Just as a refresher, at the 1992 show in Chicago the SVT Cobra put out 235 horsepower from its Vanilla Ice-approved 5.0-liter V8. Twenty years later, displacement has grown by less than a liter, but thanks to some 21st century tech and a massive supercharger, the 5.8-liter V8 in the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible makes the same 650 hp (and 600 pound-feet of torque) as its coupe counterpart, laying claim to the most powerful production V8 in the world.

In addition to the carbon fiber driveshaft, upgraded clutch, transmission, camshafts and cross-drilled block and heads, SVT fitted its own specially developed Bilstein electronic adjustable dampers, along with six-piston Brembo calipers squeezing massive discs up front.

Like the coupe, the Bilstein setup is part of the Performance Package (why its not included as standard is beyond us) and Ford will also offer a Track Pack that includes an external oil cooler, differential cooler and transmission cooler to keep temps in check when flogging the drop top around the tarmac.

The new series prefix "FG" to the eighth generation Falcon range heralds the arrival of the all-new Falcon line-up, and serves as a recognition of the strong heritage of the Fairmont Ghia plates and long term.

Ford FG Falcon XT
With a focus on interior appointments and safety features, the Falcon XT raises the bar for entry-level customers and fleet buyers of private vehicles. For the first time on Falcon, it will have its own appearance and distinctly different from the rest of the range.
XT comes with a choice of either petrol engine producing 195 kilowatts of power and 391Nm of torque I6 according to a new five-speed automatic with Sequential Sports Shift (SSS), or an optional 156kW E-Gas LPG engine with a special four-speed SSS auto. The ZF six-speed automatic optional on the I6 petrol engine.
Standard interior fittings include automatic air conditioning, power drivers seat four-lane, four-speaker single CD audio system, a new, large Interior Command Centre (ICC) LCD screen, cruise control and rear seat 60/40 split rear seats.
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is standard on all petrol models, while the XT also has driver and front passenger airbags, front side head / thorax airbags and driver and passenger Beltminder.

G6E builds on the history of the luxury G Series even further, adding to the standard G6 specification with a variety of features to give the word luxury G Series variant. Standard G6E features include the renowned ZF six-speed automatic, with a side indicator integrated into the exterior mirror housing, front fender badges, 17-inch alloy wheels and a unique G6E front grille.
The interior adds a Bluetooth cell phone integration, premium audio system with seven-inch TFT color display ICC, six-disc in-dash CD player and subwoofer, an electrochromic mirror rear vision, bi-zone automatic climate control, leather seats and electric conductors in the eighth position of the seat with three memory positions. On the security front, G6E adds a reverse camera and side curtain airbags as standard equipment.
Ford FG Falcon G6E Turbo
The new hero of the sports luxury Falcon line-up, the G6E Turbo is differentiated from the G6E by a variety of performance-oriented features, including the I6 Turbo engine that produces 270kW power and 533Nm of torque, adapted to the ZF six-automatic transmission. The new 18-inch alloy wheels rear spoiler and fog lamps glass complete the unique exterior elements, while the 19-inch alloy wheels are available as options.
Interior differentiation includes fabric wrapped door trim lower and an iPod integration feature that provides an integrated interface between the customers iPod unit and the vehicles audio system.
Ford Falcon FG XR6Ford FG Falcon XR range continues to build on the elements of a strong and distinctive design have contributed to the cult status enjoyed by XR vehicles. XR6 incorporates a number of features in addition to the Falcon XT, including a new Tremec six-speed manual transmission as standard - with the option for a five-speed automatic transmission or six-speed ZF automatic transmissions - and sports suspension.
The exterior is distinguished by the signature XR discontinuation Headlight Lens doubles, XR front bumper, grille and rockers, front fog lamps and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the XR6 features sports instrument cluster, sports seats, alloy pedal covers and an aluminum shifter on models with manual transmission, with reverse camera and reverse detection system is optional.

In recognition of its status as an open sport, XR6 Turbo will - for the first time - be specified to the same level as the XR8, the main difference between the two models into the engine.

Ford FG Falcon XR8
The XR8 of major equipment specifications with the XR6 Turbo and is differentiated by the signature of the engine and the bonnet power bulge. Interesting boss 290 4.5-liter four-valve V8 engine moves to the XR8 with the introduction of the FG Falcon and is equipped with a new exhaust system with semi-active muffler (SAM). The new exhaust system produces V8, sporty exhaust note while offering unmatched interior environment that is more subtle.
A thick 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels are optionally available on all XR models.
